I use text to represent formative,
yet random experiences from my
life. The confessional tone of this work allows viewers to experience
the often mysterious and reluctant versions of reality that we carry
as our memory of who we are.
Hand drawn on paper with graphite, the texts describe discreet moments or experiences in my life, as explor-
ations of honesty and deception; duping others vs. duping oneself, as well as the resulting feelings of guilt, shame, or pride. Making this work is a meditative process of rumination
on humorous and sad memories, lies and truths, personal accountability and irresponsibility.
